Hey there,
So you’re not a morning person? Keep reading, you might be tempted to change your habit of of pulling the covers over your head for that extra minute of sleepy bliss.
I spent hours today devouring facts and figures about early risers. This is what I found:
Early risers are more productive and less stressed. That’s it in a nutshell.
So given that we all want that, isn’t it worth experimenting with?
How to Develop an Early Morning Ritual
It all starts the night before. This is the ‘prep’ stage for your new ritual.
-
At the end of your working day, write a rough plan of what you have to do the next day, so you’re not churning it over when you get home.
-
Turn off all screens at least one hour before you go to bed. That’s phones, computers, iPads, TV’s, Games, DVD’s etc.
-
Do something relaxing before you go to bed, like read, have a hot shower or meditate, or all three if you like.
-
Avoid eating a couple of hours before you hit the sack, and down a glass of water just before you go to sleep.
-
Lay out your clothes and have a schedule for the first hour that you’re up. In other words, mentally rehearse exactly what you’re going to do when you leap out of bed and embrace this new way of being:)
-
Reward yourself for each successful attempt.
It’s worth a try don’t you think?
There’s nothing like the wee hours with just you and the rising sun to ponder the day.
Let me know how you go in the comments below. Could you do it? Too hard? Did you feel great? Were you more productive and less stressed? I’m looking forward to your reports!
With love,
