I’ve had a rough couple of days, as we all do sometimes. The thing is, it’s not the meltdown we need to worry about. It’s what you do next that’s important.
I’m sure there are those that think that us (happiness and well being practitioners) have lives that are filled to the brim with gushy happy perfection.
The reality is, that we’re human. And that means life is going to throw us some curly ones from time to time. Truth be told, I probably created the whole story myself, by not sticking to the Present Moment. Which is what this post is all about.
It’s guaranteed that if you’re in overwhelm, that you’re catastrophizing (isn’t that a great word) about the past or the present, not dealing with just today. And that’s all there ever, ever is.
So I thought I’d share how I get back into Present Moment thinking, in the hope that it may come in handy when you’re having one of those days. It really is the quickest way to get back on your ‘emotional’ feet.
#1 I read:
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle is brilliantly brilliant. You’ll either get it, or you’ll think it’s a pile of Rhino doo-doo’s. And that’s ok. We’re all different. But let me say that over 5 million people have bought this book, and here’s another fact that illustrates how people are seeking a different way to live their life:
In 2008, approximately 35 million people participated in a series of 10 live webinars with Tolle and television talk show host Oprah Winfrey. 35 Million!
#2 I go to Youtube and watch videos like the one below. It’s amazing how we can lift ourselves out of the quagmire of self doubt, simply by stepping out of the past and future, and living just this day. Please leave your comments below, I always love hearing from you. Have you read this book? What are your ‘go to’ solutions when you’re doing it tough? Please share below, your input may help someone.
