EFT Tapping Scripts Guidelines

Learn EFT Basics Before You Begin

Hello … Julie here!

Welcome to the world of EFT, the Emotional Freedom Techniques, commonly known as ‘tapping’.

Lots of people have told me that they worry that they’ll be able to ‘tap properly’. No need to worry!  You can’t get it wrong, you really can’t 🙂 Before you know it, you’ll be an ‘old hand’ at this. You’ll only have to read these guidelines once or twice, but it’s worth the 10 minutes, so you can get the true value from the scripts.

A quick note before we get into it, we always start with the ‘negative’. By this, I mean, we always acknowledge ‘how it’s been’, or ‘how it is’ in your life right now before we start to make positive suggestions. So often we haven’t let these feelings be truly acknowledged and heard, we’ve tried to ‘bury them’.  So out with the old first, and in with the new!  It’s like cleaning a wound before we add the ointment.

Now here are the simple steps for using the Tapping Scripts.

STEP 1: FAMILIARISE YOURSELF WITH THE TAPPING POINTS

1. Side of the Hand: in the middle of the fleshy bit between the bottom of your little finger and your wrist, just where you’d do a karate chop.

2. Top of the Head: the part of your head that points to the ceiling.

The next three points are around the socket of your eye:

3. Eyebrow point: on the edge of one of your eyebrows, just above your nose.

4. Side of the eye: on the bone at the outer corner your eye (not your temple, that’s too far out)

5. Under the eye: on the bone under your eye

Now, work your way down your face:

6. Under your nose

7. Under your lip, in the ‘dent’

Now, moving onto your torso:

8. Collarbone Point: directly under your collarbone near your windpipe

9. Under the arm: in line with your nipple for men, and where your bra line is, for women.

Then finally,

10. The Wrist Point: the inside of your wrist

Some practitioners leave out points or add other points…. NONE OF THIS MATTERS.

These are the points I use with clients every day, and find them extremely effective.

Here’s a simple sheet to help  you see easily and clearly where these points are:

STEP 2

Before you begin, gauge on a scale of 1-10 the intesity of what you are feeling, 10 – you are overwhelmed by your issue, 1 being that it’s not worrying you that much.

STEP 3

Reading from left to write, tap along with the script, moving to a new tapping point as indicated.

If you struggle with saying, ‘I deeply and completely love and accept myself.’

So here’s some substitutes :

I’m still a good person

I’m still trying my best

I’m still a lovely man/woman

STEP 4

After you get into the ‘swing of it’, you will find that at the end of each round, (the sequence where you start on your hand, and finish at the Head Point), something may come floating into your head, or body. It may be a physical feeling, like congestion in your throat, or it may be an emotion, like sadness. e.g. Often you can start of angry, and after a couple of round it turns to sadness.

If this is the case, just tap on those things next.  You can always come back to the script as a guideline.  Always remember to tap out the ‘bad’ feelings first, and only then substitute positive choices.

These Tapping Scripts are guides only. My wish is that they’ll get your started, and suddenly, you’ll find your own words taking over, and before long tapping will be a normal part of your TrulyMadlyDeeply Happy toolkit!

Always here to help,
